Heavy jets bring transcontinental range and a large cabin (often with separate sleeping quarters, full galley, and full forward and aft lavatories). Ten to sixteen seats, range typically 3,500 to 4,500 nautical miles. Heavy jets fly into APF directly when the runway condition and operator performance allow it; the operator and Pilot in Command make the day-of call.
Typical Aircraft
The Bombardier Challenger 600/601/604/605, the Dassault Falcon 900 and Falcon 2000, the Gulfstream G3 (III) and G4 (IV/IV-SP/400/450), and the Embraer Legacy 600/650 are the working heavy-jet platforms. The Challenger 604 and 605 are particularly common on the Naples calendar.
When Heavy Fits the Naples Trip
Naples non-stop to Hawaii, Naples non-stop to most of South America, Naples non-stop transatlantic to Europe on the right wind, Naples to Alaska. Family trips of ten or more passengers with full luggage fit heavy comfortably. For ultra-long range (Asia, deep South Pacific, Australia), long-range jet category is the right pick.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Naples-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and peaks in September. We work with you on schedule cushion and forecast windows when those months drive the calendar. If any changes are required due to weather and passenger safety, you can expect your advisor to reach out as soon as we are aware. APF observes voluntary Quiet Hours from 10 PM to 7 AM; for late-night arrivals or pre-dawn departures, Southwest Florida International (RSW) is often the more practical option.
