Naples Jet Charter FAQs

If you’re booking your first private charter or your fiftieth, the same advice applies: ask us anything. The questions below are the ones we hear most often from clients flying in and out of Naples. If yours isn’t here, pick up the phone or send an email and we’ll handle it the same day.

Flying In and Out of Naples

APF or RSW: which airport should I use?
APF for most trips. APF is Naples Municipal Airport, a public-use city-owned field with two on-field FBOs serving as the private terminals. The drive from the FBO to Port Royal, Old Naples, Aqualane Shores, Pelican Bay, or the Ritz-Carlton runs roughly five to fifteen minutes. RSW is an alternate when APF’s runway is contaminated or the field is closed, when you are arriving or leaving inside APF’s Quiet Hours, or when you are actually heading to Bonita Springs, Estero, or Sanibel and RSW is the closer airport for the trip. We will recommend the appropriate airport when we present your first quote, subject to scheduling and aircraft availability.
What size aircraft can use APF?
Light, mid, and super-mid jets routinely operate at APF: Citations, Hawkers, Challenger 350s, Praetors, and the G280 class. The primary runway is around 6,600 feet, which works comfortably for that range. Heavy and ultra-long-range jets (G650, Global 7500, Falcon 8X) also fly directly into APF. If the runway is contaminated or the operator identifies a performance limit on the day, we may coordinate an alternate field, subject to scheduling and aircraft availability.
How many FBOs are at APF?
There are two FBOs at KAPF airport. Naples Jet Center and Naples Aviation. Both are on-field and separate operations. We will provide the FBO details on an itinerary once the trip has been confirmed.
Can I land late at night or leave before dawn?
APF observes voluntary Quiet Hours from 10 PM to 7 AM. Flights inside that window are discouraged but not prohibited. In practice, many clients with a late landing or an early departure consider RSW, where no quiet hours apply. Tell us your dates and we will recommend which field works.
What about hurricane season?
Yes, it is a real factor on the Gulf. Florida’s official season runs June 1 to November 30 and peaks in September. As your trip date approaches, your advisor monitors the forecast and tells you what we are seeing. If any changes are required due to weather and passenger safety, you can expect your advisor to reach out as soon as we are aware, subject to scheduling and aircraft availability.
Can you arrange ground transport in Naples?
Yes. With enough notice before your flight, we can do the legwork to help you locate and arrange ground transportation through a third-party vendor, whether that is a luxury chauffeured sedan, a stretch limousine, a Sprinter-style van, or even an armored vehicle, anywhere on the coast from Port Royal and Pelican Bay to Mediterra or Talis Park.
What about customs for inbound international trips?
We coordinate it. Notice requirements vary by airport and by trip, so the earlier we know, the better. The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, the rest of the Caribbean, and Key West are the international and near-international pairings we run most often out of Naples.

About Naples Jet Charter

When can I reach you?
Anytime. Day, night, weekend, holiday. Pick up the phone whenever you need to and someone is on it.
Do you offer supplemental lift for aircraft owners?
Yes. We backfill for corporate flight departments when an aircraft is down or two trips are stacked, and for fractional owners who need an extra leg outside their plan. Four to six hours of notice is usually enough; if your aircraft is suddenly AOG, the call goes faster than that. Fractional owners often use a charter leg to protect their plan hours for later in the year.
How do you protect my privacy?
Privacy comes first. Names, manifests, dates, destinations. Only the operator and the crew assigned to your trip see them, on a strict need-to-know basis. Nobody else needs to.
What is an airport slot?
It’s prior permission to land or depart at a specific airport during a busy window, granted by the airport authority and ATC. Big events trigger slot restrictions. Examples include Masters week at Augusta, the Kentucky Derby at Louisville, peak ski weeks in Aspen, and Naples on Winter Wine Festival weekend. We arrange slots as part of your trip when we know the dates fall inside one of those windows.
Why have a dedicated advisor?
One phone number, first call to last leg. The same advisor handles bookings, weather, FBO arrival, ground transport, and anything that goes sideways.
What sets Naples Jet Charter apart?
Our vetting protocol is documented and applied to every recommendation: FAR Part 135 carriers only, Premium Wyvern Broker membership held by Naples Jet Charter, Wyvern and ARGUS reports referenced where the operator participates, NBAA member since 2012. We provide consultative advice on whether a specific aircraft or quote fits your trip. The longer write-up lives on the safety and vetting page.
Where are you based?
Headquartered in the Philadelphia region, with operator relationships across the country and abroad. We coordinate flights from any departure airport through our network, and we will return a competitive quote on the first call.
Who are your clients?
A mix. Families heading down for season. Executives between meetings. Family offices managing a year of trips. Sports teams. Celebrities and the people who work with them. Pet owners moving with a dog or two. Patients on non-emergency medical transport. Manufacturers shipping cargo against a deadline. If you don’t fit one of those boxes, ask anyway.
Do you offer shared flights?
No. Charter flights under FAR Part 135 contract with a single party, by law. If a group is putting the trip together, one person signs and pays, then settles up with the others on the back end. Shared seats on a single charter operate under Part 380, a different regulatory setup we don’t currently arrange.

Booking and Pre-Flight

How far in advance should I book?
Sometimes as little as 6 hours, depending on aircraft and route. For a firm number to the dollar, 45 to 90 days out is the sweet spot. We do not give firm quotes too far in advance; aircraft availability shifts as the trip date approaches. Reach out closer to the trip date for a firmer quote.
Any luggage limits?
Luggage capacity varies by aircraft. Bigger plane, more room. Soft bags pack better in tight compartments than hard cases. Tell us total weight, dimensions, and anything fragile or oversized when you book, and we’ll match the trip to a plane that fits the bags.
Do you arrange tours, hotels, or concierge?
Not directly. Our lane is the flight. If you want a recommendation, we work with hospitality and concierge people we trust, and we’ll make the introduction.
Which airports can I depart from and arrive at?
Almost anywhere. Private aviation runs out of thousands of airports that a commercial schedule never touches, so you usually land far closer to where you’re going than the airlines allow. Each aircraft has its own runway requirements, and international legs need a customs-capable field, but inside those limits we pick the airport that gets you to the front door fastest.
How do I pay?
Payment is straightforward. Pay in full at booking; we hold a credit card on file (Amex, Visa, or Mastercard) for incidentals. The specifics are in your Charter Broker Agreement, and the short version sits below.

  • Most clients choose to pay via wire transfer in order to accommodate a 5% cash payment discount.
  • AMEX, personal or corporate, covers any flight up to the card-charge limit on file with your advisor.
  • Trips inside four business days: we authorize the credit card on file for the total, then a wire is due within 24 hours of signing. If you choose to pay via credit card, the 5% cash payment discount will be forfeited.

Anything in here is subject to change without notice; your signed agreement always governs.

How do I decide which aircraft is right?
We will help you decide which aircraft to use for your flight. The variables that help determine the best fit will be based on the trip distance, the number of passengers, volume of your baggage, and aircraft/runway performance. Our goal is to narrow the options down and send you a list to choose from. To get a feel for the categories before that conversation, browse the aircraft gallery.
What ID do I need?
The type of ID required will depend on if your trip is 100% domestic, or if it is international. International trips require a valid passport and in some cases a Visa. Domestic travel may only require a compliant identification such as a driver license.
What happens after I book?
An email itinerary lands with everything in it. Reservation, dates and estimated times, each leg, aircraft, FBOs at both ends, and any special requests captured during booking.
What happens if there's bad weather?
Weather happens, especially on the Gulf Coast in summer. Your advisor watches every advisory that could affect your route. The operator and the Pilot in Command make the takeoff and landing decision on the day, and they’ll route around what they can. If a delay or change is required due to weather and passenger safety, you can expect to hear from your advisor as soon as we are aware, not at the FBO.

In Flight

Can I smoke on the flight?
Yes, on the right aircraft. Some operators run smoking-permitted cabins for cigar, pipe, or cigarette travelers. Mention it up front and your advisor will match you to one.
Do the aircraft have bathrooms?
Depends what you’re flying. The smallest pistons and a few light jets either don’t have a lavatory or only a covered seat for emergencies. Most light and midsize jets have a curtained or semi-enclosed lavatory. Midsize and up have a fully enclosed lav with a toilet, sink, and room to change. We factor it in when the trip is long enough to matter.
Can my pet fly?
We are very pet friendly, but not all aircraft owners are. Make sure to let us know about your pet prior to contracting. We will need to know the type of pet, your pet’s weight, and breed.
What is a qualified flight crew?
Pilots who meet or beat FAR Part 135 minimums for the specific aircraft on your trip. We don’t choose pilots (that’s the operator’s job), but we choose operators who choose well.
Which terminal or gate do I use?
Private travelers go through a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) or, at smaller airports, a general aviation building. Some airports have no terminal at all. Most FBOs offer a lounge area, restrooms, and complimentary refreshments; specific amenities vary by FBO. Your advisor will confirm what to expect at the FBOs on your trip.
Who operates the aircraft?
We search for aircraft with low repositioning costs that price competitively for your route. You pick from a short list, and once you’ve chosen we lock the aircraft and confirm operator and tail number on the itinerary before flight day.
Wi-Fi, phones, and entertainment in flight
On request, your charter can include any of the following. Some items carry additional charges; the standard terms in your Charter Broker Agreement spell them out.

  • Wi-Fi
  • Televisions, with or without DVD
  • Satellite flight phone
  • Music and entertainment systems
  • iPad and iPhone connectivity
  • Coffee and espresso, microwave
  • Medical kit
Will there be a flight attendant on board?
Some aircraft require one. Most light jets don’t. If your aircraft doesn’t require one and you’d like one anyway, we can usually arrange it. Upon booking your flight, please let us know prior to the quoting process if this is something you require on your trip.

Anything Else?

Whether this is your first private charter or your fiftieth, you deserve to feel settled about the trip. We’re available at any hour. Pick up the phone, or send the trip in and we’ll come back with a quote and the options that fit it.
