VIP airliners are converted commercial airliner platforms with private interiors. Sixteen to over two hundred seats depending on layout, and intercontinental range. The category covers large group charters: sports teams, corporate events, multi-family weeks, and tour-style charters.
Typical Aircraft
The Boeing Business Jet (BBJ, based on the 737), the Airbus Corporate Jet A318 Elite and A319 Corporate Jet, the Airbus A320 in VIP layout, the Boeing 727 and 737-200 in older VIP fits, the MD-83 in VIP configuration, the Boeing 757 VIP, and the Bombardier Challenger 850 (CRJ-200 based, lower seat count) are the working VIP airliner platforms.
When VIP Airliner Fits the Naples Trip
Group charters of 20 to 200 passengers , sports teams, large corporate events, family reunions, religious delegations , fit a VIP airliner. For shorter groups (10 to 20), heavy or super-midsize is typically more cost-effective. Note that VIP airliners often require RSW rather than APF due to runway length needed for loaded takeoff weight.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Naples-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and peaks in September. We work with you on schedule cushion and forecast windows when those months drive the calendar. If any changes are required due to weather and passenger safety, you can expect your advisor to reach out as soon as we are aware. APF observes voluntary Quiet Hours from 10 PM to 7 AM; for late-night arrivals or pre-dawn departures, Southwest Florida International (RSW) is often the more practical option.
