Entry-level jets (sometimes called very light jets, or VLJs) are the first jet category. Four to seven seats, range typically 1,000 to 1,500 nautical miles, and a runway profile that handles APF easily. For short Naples-to-Northeast hops, weekend Bahamas trips, and Florida regional jet flights, entry-level jets cover the work at a lower per-hour cost than a light jet.
Typical Aircraft
The Cessna Citation Mustang, the Embraer Phenom 100, the Eclipse 500, and the Cessna Citation CJ1 are the core entry-level jet platforms. Cabin layout is intimate (most are four to six passenger seats), and luggage compartments are sized to match.
When Entry-Level Fits the Naples Trip
Naples to Atlanta, Naples to Charlotte, Naples to New York-area airports, and Naples to short Caribbean pairings all fit an entry-level jet on the right day. For groups over six passengers, or for trips much beyond 1,500 nautical miles, a light or midsize jet typically becomes the better category.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.

Naples-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and peaks in September. We work with you on schedule cushion and forecast windows when those months drive the calendar. If any changes are required due to weather and passenger safety, you can expect your advisor to reach out as soon as we are aware. APF observes voluntary Quiet Hours from 10 PM to 7 AM; for late-night arrivals or pre-dawn departures, Southwest Florida International (RSW) is often the more practical option.
