The Cessna Citation CJ1 is the smallest of the CitationJet family and one of the more common entry-level jets in the Naples market, quoted often for a couple flying down for a Nassau day trip or a short Bahamas or Florida hop. APF is generous for it.
Cessna produced the CJ1 from 1999 to 2006 as the follow-on to the CitationJet. Two Williams FJ44-1A engines drive the airframe to 389 knots cruise, 1,300 nautical miles of range, a 41,000-foot ceiling, and five-to-six seats with a belted lavatory.

Why the Cessna Citation CJ1 Fits Naples
APF’s 6,600-foot runway is generous for the CJ1 on any day of the year, and MKY is inside the envelope on cool days with a moderate payload.
1,300 nautical miles of range covers TEB, HPN, and BED to APF nonstop with a light payload; PWK is a stretch that usually needs a fuel stop on winter headwinds. Southbound, Nassau (MYNN), Great Exuma (MYEF), and Turks and Caicos (MBPV) are inside range with a full cabin.
For a couple or a family of three heading to the Bahamas for a long weekend, the CJ1 is one of the least expensive light-jet options out of Naples. Repeat clients running 50 to 100 hours a year should model the type against a Phenom 100 or Mustang for total cost.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
