Cessna Citation Sovereign

The Citation Sovereign is the 2004-and-later Cessna super midsize that predates the Latitude and Longitude and still runs Naples snowbird trips in solid numbers. From APF’s 6,600-foot main runway, the Sovereign flies TEB, HPN, PWK, BED, and Toronto (YYZ) to APF nonstop with a full cabin and 100 cubic feet of baggage.

Cessna produced the Citation Sovereign from 2004 with two Pratt and Whitney PW306C engines and Honeywell Primus Epic avionics. The Sovereign+ update in 2013 added winglets, updated avionics, and interior refinements. Seats eight to nine, cruises at 460 knots to 47,000 feet, delivers 3,200 nautical miles of range, and carries 100 cubic feet of baggage. Enclosed lavatory.

Why the Citation Sovereign Fits Naples

Range at 3,200 nautical miles handles Aspen (ASE), Denver (APA), and the West Coast with a light cabin, plus every snowbird pairing nonstop with a full cabin. The 47,000-foot ceiling is 2,000 feet above the Latitude and Longitude and gives the Sovereign a slight edge on summer thunderstorm days.

APF is comfortable for the Sovereign on any typical day. Cabin cross-section is narrower than the Latitude but wider than a Learjet 60 or Hawker 900XP; passengers stepping into it from a Learjet 40XR or Hawker 800XP will feel the difference.

The Sovereign is well-represented on the Naples charter market via mixed-fleet operators; treat availability as reliable rather than scheduled from a Naples base.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
