Naples Embraer Phenom 300 Charter

The Embraer Phenom 300 is one of the aircraft we quote most often out of Naples. It fits comfortably on the 6,600-foot main runway at Naples Municipal (APF), carries six passengers nonstop from the Northeast in a single leg, and has the short-field manners to work out of Marco Island Executive (MKY) when the trip actually ends south of Old Naples. For snowbird owners running a predictable November-to-April pattern between a primary residence in the Northeast or Midwest and a second home in Port Royal, Pelican Bay, or Grey Oaks, the Phenom 300 sits in the range-to-cost sweet spot better than almost anything else in the super light category.

Embraer certified the type in 2009 and it has led GAMA light-class deliveries in most years since 2013. The airframe, EMB-505, is a clean-sheet super light with an enclosed lavatory, a BMW Group DesignworksUSA cabin, and Prodigy Touch avionics on later builds. What clients notice on the first Naples flight is the cabin altitude, 6,600 feet at FL450, and the fact that six adults do not feel packed in the way older light-class aircraft (Beechjet 400A, Citation Bravo) had them feeling.

Why the Embraer Phenom 300 Fits Naples

APF works well for the Phenom 300 in ways it does not for a Falcon 8X or Global 7500. Runway 5/23 at 6,600 feet is inside the type’s normal takeoff and landing envelope even out of a warm Naples afternoon, so operators do not run weight-limit trade studies the way they do for heavy iron. That means the type can consistently pick up passengers at APF rather than diverting to Southwest Florida International (RSW) in Fort Myers, which matters in season when the drive from RSW to Port Royal can stretch to 90 minutes on I-75 and Tamiami Trail.

The 1,971 nautical mile book range covers the routes that anchor Naples inbound traffic: Teterboro (TEB) to APF, White Plains (HPN) to APF, Bedford (BED) to APF, and Chicago Executive (PWK) to APF all fly nonstop with reserves on a normal winter day. Same for the Toronto snowbird pattern (YYZ), which is a real Phenom 300 job with a light payload. Southbound, the Phenom 300 handles what most Naples visitors actually ask for: a 45-minute Nassau (MYNN) day trip or a 90-minute Turks and Caicos (MBPV) weekend run, both well inside range with a full cabin.

Short-field manners also open up Marco Island Executive (MKY) as a landing option when the destination is Marco proper, the Isles of Capri, or a private club in southern Collier County. Not every super light will take MKY comfortably; the Phenom 300 will.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
