The Westwind II is the extended-range 1980s successor to the Westwind I, with a longer wing, larger tip tanks, and roughly 2,600 nautical miles of range. In the Naples market it sits at a similar price point to the Westwind I but flies farther on the same fuel load, which matters on a Chicago-to-Naples-to-Nassau round-robin.
IAI produced the Westwind II from 1980 through 1987. The visible differences from the Westwind I are the wing (Sigma winglets and larger tip tanks) and the interior (updated cabin dimensions and improved acoustic treatment). Under the wing, the same TFE731-3 engines carry more fuel farther. The type was the range benchmark of the super light category through the mid-1980s.

Why the Westwind II Fits Naples
Runway performance at APF is similar to the Westwind I; the type is inside the 6,600-foot envelope on cool days and margin-limited on hot ones. What the II adds is the range to fly TEB-APF-MYNN in a single fuel plan, which the I usually cannot without a tech stop.
As with the Westwind I, availability is shrinking as operators retire Stage 2 airframes. When it comes up in the Naples market it is usually a positioning flight from a Northeast or Midwest operator; treat it as a value option, not a scheduled asset.
