Why the Bombardier Global 6500 Fits Naples
APF at 6,600 feet is generally not the right departure field for a Global 6500 at MTOW. The airframe’s runway requirements at heavy weights exceed APF’s practical envelope for a full-fuel departure, and RSW (Southwest Florida International, Fort Myers) is the honest alternative for a nonstop Europe or West Coast leg. For light-cabin, short-hop trips (APF to Nassau, APF to Palm Beach), the 6500 will use APF on cool mornings, but that is not the type’s mission profile.
For the Naples client who owns a Global 6500 or is comparing against ownership of a G650, the practical operating pattern is APF for light legs and social positioning, RSW for full-fuel transcontinental and transatlantic trips.
