Naples Beechjet 400 / 400A Charter

The Beechjet 400A is one of the older light jets that still moves passengers between the Northeast and Naples every week. For a Naples trip inside 1,500 nautical miles, the 400A is a value option that will fit seven or eight passengers with belted lavatory and land on the 6,600-foot main runway at APF without any special planning.

Beechcraft (Raytheon, later Hawker Beechcraft) produced the Beechjet 400A from 1990 through 2003 as the successor to the Mitsubishi Diamond II. The airframe carries two Pratt and Whitney JT15D-5 turbofans, a stand-up cabin trimmed for seven or eight, and cruises at 449 knots up to 45,000 feet. Baggage volume is 56 cubic feet, tight by modern light-jet standards.

Why the Beechjet 400A Fits Naples

APF’s main runway accepts the 400A comfortably at typical winter weights, which is the important part for Naples clients: the trip that started as an APF trip usually ends as an APF trip, not a last-minute diversion to Southwest Florida International (RSW) with a 60-to-90-minute drive north into Port Royal or Pelican Bay.

The 1,500-nautical-mile range covers the Chicago (PWK, MDW) and Northeast (TEB, HPN) snowbird pairings nonstop with a light payload. Toronto (YYZ) is a stretch that usually needs a tech stop with a full cabin. Nassau (MYNN) and Bimini day trips are inside its envelope with fuel to hold.

The belted lavatory is worth flagging for a Naples-to-Chicago trip in season; guests used to enclosed lavatories on a Phenom 300 or CJ3 will notice.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
