Why the ATR 72F Fits Naples
RSW is the practical Southwest Florida cargo field. The ATR 72F fits regional distribution runs: RSW to Nassau or Georgetown (Bahamas) with e-commerce or perishable freight, RSW to Havana (customs permitting) or Cancun for repositioning, or intra-Florida hub feeder work.
Hurricane Ian precedent (September 2022) is the humanitarian use case. Turboprop freighters like the ATR were part of the immediate post-storm relief airlift into RSW and Punta Gorda (PGD) when highway access was cut; the type will land on shorter or damaged fields where a jet freighter will not.
Seasonal produce reposition through MIA is another fit: tomatoes, citrus, and stone crab claws (October to May) moving to Northeast markets when the truck lane is bottlenecked.
